The Karan Johar has received the honour of Iconic Entertainment Leader of the Decade at India Business Leader Awards. He was bestowed with this honour in the presence of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

Karan johar has contributed to Indian film industry in many ways. He is a popular Indian film director, producer, screenwriter, costume designer, actor and television and radio personality. In the early days of his carrier, he had worked as assistant director in many movies under the production house of Yashraj films.

He is the son of Roohi Johar and the renowned producer Yash Johar. He had started his directorial inning from the movie ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998). He received the Filmfare Awards for Best Director and Best Screenplay for this movie. After this movie, he gave various back to back hits to Bollywood like Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001) and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006), My Name Is Khan (2010) and the list goes on. His father founded Dharma Productions in the year 1979. Karan Johar took the reins of Dharma Productions in year 2004 after the demise of his father.

The office of dharma productions is located in Mumbai. It mainly involves in the production and distribution of Hindi films. Over the years, this production house has produced some fantastic Bollywood movies. Karan johar introduced a new branch of the company with the name Dharmatic in November 2018. This main objective behind launching this branch is to produce digital content for online distribution platforms.

Recently, Karan Johar is busy in the preparations for his upcoming directorial movie ‘Takht’. The movie is a periodic drama set in the backdrop of the Mughal era. He has casted a lot of famous bollywood actors in this movie. The list includes Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Anil Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar and Janhvi Kapoor. ‘Takht’ ‘will revolve around the story of two warring brothers Aurangzeb and Dara Shikoh. The plot of this movie is based on the war between Shah Jahan’s son Aurangzeb and Dara Shikoh. Vicky Kaushal will play the role of younger brother Aurangzeb while Ranveer Singh will play the role of elder brother Dara Shikoh.
